Macadamia nuts have gained immense popularity in recent years due to their unique flavour, high nutritional value, and versatility in culinary applications. This year’s symposium offers a chance to explore the science behind these delicious nuts and their potential in the global market. With sessions covering topics such as cultivation, processing, product offerings, and sustainability, attendees can expect to gain valuable insights into every aspect of the macadamia industry.
With a line-up of top-notch speakers and an exciting program, this year’s event promises to be one of the most informative and engaging yet. International Macadamia Symposium (IMS) 2023 is an event that brings together producers, processors, exporters and importers, traders, nurseries, distributors, service providers, experts, researchers, and industry leaders from all over the world to share their knowledge, experiences, and innovations in the macadamia nut industry.
We, as SAMAC, are thrilled to be hosting this year’s IMS in South Africa, at The Capital Zimbali Coastal Estate. It’s located in an area known as the Dolphin Coast, situated on the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) about 25 km north of Umhlanga Rocks and bordering on the south of the popular beach holiday destination of Ballito.
Macadamias are extensively cultivated in KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Limpopo, all neighbouring provinces in South Africa. These regions are well-suited to macadamia production due to their warm climate, abundant rainfall, and fertile soil.
